Street Segments

What are street segment ?

The street segment feature is designed to streamline route planning for high-density areas where numerous customers are serviced on the same street. Often most are or all of the locations on a street will be visited.

Traditional stop-by-stop planning for these type of collections is inefficient as most if not all will end up on the same route in the same sequence. Street segment planning offers a powerful alternative by allowing you to plan routes based on entire street segments at once, rather than individual stops.

This will significantly reduce the workload of the plan making it faster and easier to create optimal routes.

How does it work ?

When street segments are enabled, MRM will automatically group order for plan group into street segments based the street nearest the customer location. From here user can plan entire street segments onto using all of the same features as stop-by-stop planning (Drag-Drop, Map, etc.) and even of course sequence route by street segment.

Street segments are automatically split by services day and material types, so if a street requires both recycling and general Waste collection you will get a copy of the street segments for both.

Additionally, if a new order snaps into an existing street segment that is already planned on a route, it will automatically be assigned to that route with no additional work for the user.
